East Portland Update - TriMet (May 27, 2026)

TriMet is committed to making our region an inclusive, sustainable and vibrant place to live and work. Transit-Oriented Development (TOD) can help achieve this by delivering high density housing and mixed-use destinations close to transit. TriMet’s TOD Program will give an overview of their work and highlight investments already underway in East Portland/East County or recently completed, such as the new East County Library. They will also give an overview of their recent work on an Eastside Park & Ride Study at the E. 122^nd/ Menlo Park and E. 181^st Ave Park & Rides, where TriMet is exploring potential development concepts that help the community and neighborhoods. First Friday Food Carts with Friends! (June 05, 2026)

Join us for a casual lunch on first Fridays! We'll visit a different food cart pod each month.

In June, we will meet at the Flipside Bar & Carts in the Lents neighborhood. Plus! We're moving this lunch to 1 pm so that we can go volunteer at Leach Botanical Gardens after.

Leach Botanical Gardens - Back 5 clean up (June 05, 2026)

Help a non-profit chamber member grow into summer on the afternoon of Friday, June 5, from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM. Because of budget constraints, Leach Botanical Garden would appreciate our help in their ‘Back 5’ habitat restoration area. This area has been undergoing a transformation over the past six years and serves as an outdoor eco-lab for many students.

We will focus on removing non-native plants in an area with rustic trails and sloped terrain. Wear clothes that can get dirty. Bring your own garden gloves if you have them, otherwise the Garden will provide them. The Garden will provide all necessary tools. A hat, and sunscreen are also recommended. The chamber will have water on hand.

The garden is located at 6704 SE 122nd Ave, in Portland, one block south of Foster Road.
