With the announcement that Multnomah County District Attorney Rod Underhill that he won’t seek a third term, and will retire at the end of 2020 after spending his entire career as a Multnomah County prosecutor, two candidates have stepped up to fill his position.

The East Portland Chamber of Commerce is hosting Mike Schmidt, a 

former MCDA prosecutor, and now the Executive Director of the Oregon Criminal Justice Commission (OCJC) and Ethan Knight, a former MCDA prosecutor and now an assistant U.S. Attorney, at the Government and Economic Affairs meeting on March 11, 2020 at 7:30 am at the Adventist Medical Center, 10123 SE Market St, lower level Conference room (near the Cafeteria).

A critical position in how crime is processed and dealt with, or not, the District Attorney 

race is an important race to cover. Please come to our meeting and hear where these candidates stand on the critical issues of importance for the East Multnomah County residents.
