In our changing world, one thing has remained constant: higher education continues to provide a skilled workforce and pathways to social mobility.  At the same time, higher education as we know it is transforming.  Join us as we learn what’s new at Mt. Hood Community College and Portland Community College, how these institutions are evolving post-pandemic, and in what ways the state’s Future Ready Oregon funding is creating opportunities in our community.

About our presenters:

Dr. Lisa Skari, MHCC

Dr. Lisa Skari has served as the president of Mt. Hood Community College since 2018. She holds a Doctorate of Education in Higher Education Administration and a Master’s degree in Business Administration. Her 30-year career in community colleges started as an adjunct faculty member, and included mid-management positions in cooperative education/internships and budgeting. For 17 years she served as the Vice President for Institutional Advancement and Foundation Executive Director. Dr. Skari is the recipient of 2022 National Council for Marketing and Public Relations Region 7 Pacesetter Award, the H.S. Warwick Award for Outstanding Doctoral Dissertation, and the Washington Community and Technical College Administrators’ Distinguished Service Award. Prior to her work in community colleges, she spent seven years in the private sector in management, buying, and corporate training.
