Outer Powell Transportation Safety Project

The Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT) will begin construction of safety improvements in 2023 to help people travel Outer SE Powell Boulevard more safely from SE 99th Avenue to SE 122nd Avenue and SE 136th Avenue to just east of SE 174th Avenue (the Portland/Gresham city limits). The first phase, from SE 122nd Avenue to SE 136th Avenue, is complete. The project will add a center turn lane, sidewalks, bike lanes, stormwater treatment, new waterline in some areas, new traffic signals and mid-block pedestrian activated beacons. These improvements reduce the frequency and severity of crashes as well as help people driving, taking transit, walking and biking share the road with fewer conflicts.
